About the Lake Elmore, VT Web cam

The camera is located on VT Rte. 12 about a quarter mile south of the Lake Elmore General Store. It's pointed pretty much West by South West towards the peak of Elmore Mountain. For now, the camera is on from 6:00 am until 6:00 pm, it's dark before and after that. We'll extend the hours as the days get longer. The image updates about every 2 minutes.

Sometime in the spring we'll move the camera so that it is pointed at VT Rte. 12 so that it will show traffic and weather conditions. That's a joke, in Lake Elmore if there are more than 3 cars in a row, it must be rush hour. We don't get much traffic here. But we really will point the camera at the road andtry to put a thermometer and a wind guage or something in the frame.

We would like to update the image more than every 2 minutes but we use PowerShift Wireless BroadBand for our Internet connection and a lot of the time it is slower than dial-up. We're doing the best we can.
